Currently, ferromagnetic substrates such as tank bodies, pressure equipment, and high-pressure pipelines have potential safety hazards such as corrosion and cracks. Based on the principle of low-frequency electromagnetic detection, this paper uses simulation analysis to study the effect of the shape and size of the magnetic coil core on the magnetic induction intensity, constructs a three-dimensional finite element simulation model of the low-frequency electromagnetic sensor, and analyzes the impact of the number of turns of the receiving coil and the diameter of the core on the sensor’s detection signal through ablation experiments. After optimizing the parameters of the excitation coil and the receiving coil of the sensor, the intensity of the received signal of the sensor has increased by 13%, effectively improving the detection performance of the sensor.
