Analytic Network Process and Fuzzy Value Functions for Modeling Vulnerability of River Plain Aquifer

Mohammad Jalali, Hirad Abghari, Bahram Choubin, Amir Hosein Mosavi · 2024

The aim of this study is to present a modeling strategy for the vulnerability of a plain aquifer considering groundwater contamination. The model is structured based on the analytic network process (ANP) combined with fuzzy value functions. The output of the ANP model is used for developing the layers of the vulnerability map which were generated in the ArcGIS software environment. The vulnerability map provides a visual representation of the vulnerability of the aquifer. The study indicates that approximately half of the region falls under the vulnerable classes which are at risk of groundwater contamination.
