Abstract The sites chosen to be surveyed are to obtain data mainly about Chinese dialects, as well as about minority languages. They are situated mostly in places where Chinese dialects are spoken though other regional factors may also be taken into consideration. Survey sites for minority languages are selected according to their importance and research value.
