Noise power spectrum due to electrical contacts operations is described. For real circuits including relay contacts, a model was introduced, which was made of a relay and a transmission line. Basing on this model, the noise spectrum was analyzed experimentally and theoretically. The results of the both analyses agreeded very well. From these analyses, the following conclusion may be submitted. When the supply voltage and conducting current are low, the generation mechanism of the noise due to contacts operations is multiple reflections of the step wave in the lead wire.
