A Multi-Resources Load-Balancing Policy in SDN

Alex Ramiro Masaquiza Caiza, Luis Miguel Samaniego Campoverde · 2024

In this paper we introduce a Multi-Resource LoadBalancing policy that exploits the programmability of SDN to intelligently distribute the users’ traffic across a cluster of web servers based on four key metrics of the web servers: CPU, Memory, Bandwidth utilization, and Response Time. We evaluated and demonstrated how the proposal outperform not only naive load-balancing strategies, like Random and Round Robin, but also more informed and sophisticated ones.
