Secure Techniques for Further Linux Mail Server Protection Against Compromised Accounts
Ivan Blagoev, Daniela Borissova · 2024
The article describes some verified and working strategies for protecting Linux mail servers against compromised user accounts through a combination of free, practical solutions that enhance cyber resilience and operational efficiency for real-time detection of account abuse. The paper discusses techniques such as user behavior analytics, hybrid threat detection methods, and log analysis using the "pflogsumm" tool. The advantages of these techniques are demonstrated in real situations of small and medium-sized organizations with limited resources, enabling them to automate processes and identify suspicious activity in real time. The proposed approaches show the potential to create robust mail server protection with minimal investment, achieving high adaptability to emerging threats.
