The Internet of Things (IoT) has witnessed a rapid expansion, necessitating efficient communication technologies such as LoRa and Sigfox. In light of the crescent number of devices connected to Internet-of-Things (IoT) networks, it is necessary to manage multiple protocols, such as LoRa and Sigfox, for effective spectrum utilization. In this work, the reconfgurability of software defined radios explored to develop a cross-protocol repeater for LoRa and Sigfox protocols, enabling seamless integration between different devices. Experimental observations led to bit-error-ratios (BER) of less than 10−3, yielding satisfactory performance for most applications.
