This study offers a new approach to analysing printed character images with a focus on color spectrum differences and orientation. It examines the color spectrum variation of printouts from four printer models (HP DesignJet 111, HP LaserJet 4350, HP Color LaserJet CP3525, and HP LaserJet 4100) using the Arabic character (ب) as a sample. The OrientationJ plugin measures the orientation of printed characters and the color spectrum properties, including standard deviation (σ). The findings show that the LJ-3525 printer produces brighter colors, while the DS-111 exhibits a broader spectrum. The σ parameter has a significant impact on color differentiation between printers, as a reduced σ value increases the visibility of spectral variance. The innovation of this study is the utilization of OrientationJ for printer source identification through character orientation and color distribution, which is relevant to document forensics and printer quality management. This study presents a new methodology for image analysis of printed characters, which emphasizes variations in color spectrum and orientation.
