Daniil Lyulyava, Nikita Duksin, Ilona Duksina, Denis Shchepukhin · 2024

This paper discusses the research of the characteristics of control circuits for specialized pipelined computing devices and identifies methods for their digital circuit design. The goal is to determine dependencies between various performance indicators of the circuit and its parameter values, as well as to identify the impact of changes introduced into the model of a specialized computing device across multiple design levels. The paper examines architectural patterns of specialized computing devices, particularly the pipeline representation; the integration of a specialized computing device into a computing system; options for implementing a control flow for a specialized computing device and the problems encountered during their design. Additionally, it presents the main characteristics of control flow circuits and graphs showing the dependence of changes in the metrics of an implemented FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) based specialized computing device prototype on its parameter values. Also the paper covers the co-design technique as one of the approaches for design computing devices.
