The Methodology for Calculating Specific Electrical Loads of a Residential Building Based on Data Regarding its Electricity Consumption

The actual electrical loads of apartment buildings, as shown by various studies, differ significantly from the calculated ones, which are based on the standard values of specific loads per apartment established by regulatory documents. The document SP 256.1325800.2016 “Electrical installations of residential and public buildings. Design and installation rules” is in force on an all-Russian scale. The development and justification of new standards should be based on a large amount of factual material, namely, the use of daily graphs of apartment load. The volume of information provided reaches several million measurements of only one relatively small sample of apartment buildings. In this case, only the maximum values of loads in their totality are used. In this regard, this paper substantiates a methodology based on the use of the relationship between maximum power consumption and maximum load. In case of proof of a high correlation between them, the calculation of specific loads for groups of apartments is greatly simplified. It is enough to have integral data on their electricity consumption for a week or a month to calculate the maximum load consumed. In this case, it is possible to significantly expand the range of multi-apartment residential buildings covered by measurements, since information on consumed electricity is much more accessible than load charts. As a result, a much larger array of specific loads is subject to statistical processing, thereby increasing the validity of the proposed standard values.
