Experiments with an electrophore as a way to introduce the concept of free and bound charges

A contradiction has been revealed between the importance of the fundamental concepts of free and bound charges for an elementary physics course and the lack of a simple and convincing experiment to introduce and form them. The elimination of this contradiction is achieved by performing a series of demonstration experiments with an electrophor and a neon lamp in the classroom.
