Time-Frequency Resolution of the Electric Field Radiated from a Lightning Discharge
Stefano Marchi, Riccardo Enrico Zich · 2005
In this paper an introductory model for the analysis of the high frequency interaction between lighting discharge phenomena with victim systems is presented. Starting from the radiated electric field at ground level, according to the tortuous and branched channel model of a lightning discharge, the authors analyse the jagged waveform of the electric field through the discrete wavelet transform. The multiresolultion analysis turns to be suitable for extracting the localized high-frequency content relate to sag and swells measured in the radiated field, especially through the application of thresholding techniques.
