basically, the three-dimensional TEM cell is designed to extend the principle of the “classical” TEM cell in three dimensions. However, in [1], simulations and experiences results showed that a more accurate electromagnetic characterization could be performed with this structure. But the geometry of a 3D-TEM cell puts forward the question of the validity of the TEM-cell's hypothesis, which is assumed in this new characterization. For these reasons, a precise description of the coupling mechanism is needed. This work, as a continuation of the previous publications [1]-[3], presents briefly the interest of the 3D-TEM cell and proposes to model the coupling between a septum and a magnetic source, i.e. a loop.
