An automated radio data analysis pipeline for the GMRT

Narendra Nath Patra, Abhinav Narayan, Atharva Mirashi · 2024

Radio observations are crucial in probing galaxy formation and evolution processes.Specifically, the neutral Hydrogen in galaxies plays a crucial role.It acts as the reservoir of fuel for star formation. Not only that, but it also acts as a powerful tracer of dynamics. However, analyzing radio data and producing science-ready maps and cubes are not trivial. It takes a significant effort to reduce radio interferometric data, specifically at lower frequencies. At these frequencies, radio frequency interferences (RFI) can corrupt the data considerably, and hence, identification and mitigation of those remain challenging to date.
