Statistical Analysis of Optimal Features for CLAHE Algorithm on Post-COVID19 CT Scans

Beatrice Arvinti, Marius Costache · 2024

This paper presents a statistical analysis of the parameters most suited to display an accurate Computed Tomograph (CT) scans. Several scans on patients affected by the Sars-CoV2 virus have been investigated with the final aim to establish the optimal parameters for the analysis algorithm. We used the Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) method a strong Matlab contrast-enhancement method to outline better the physiological features of the scans. Parameters such as the contrast factor, the computed cumulative distribution function have been taken into consideration. The results are displayed graphically to enable any physician an accurate interpretation of the algorithm's performances.
