The Algorithm to Design Circles in Bubble Chart

We investigate the circle design in bubble chart in this paper. The bubble chart we design has the properties that a unit circle is at the center, and surround by a series of circle rings one layer by one layer. For extending next layer of circles, it always has a silhouette circle tangent to all circles in the newest layer. The extension of circle is partition into two class, one is that each layer has the same number of circles with the same radii, the other is that new layer has multiple numbers of circles, compare with the previous layer of circles. We solve the problem geometrically and/or algebraically if the problem is simple, and give heuristic algorithm to solve more complex problem.
