Multimedia data, including videos, audio, images, and electronic documents, often contains sensitive information that must be protected from a wide range of security threats. Traditional cryptographic methods, while effective, may not always provide sufficient robustness against evolving attacks, especially in the context of multimedia content. Chaos-based cryptography has emerged as an innovative and promising approach to address these challenges, offering unique advantages in terms of unpredictability, complexity, and sensitivity to initial conditions. This article explores the potential of chaos-based encryption as a superior alternative to conventional techniques, highlighting key advantages such as enhanced security, greater computational efficiency, and adaptability to various multimedia formats. We also define several important metrics and evaluation methods for assessing the reliability and effectiveness of chaos-based encryption systems, including key sensitivity, entropy, and resistance to cryptanalysis. Finally, we provide a comprehensive comparison of recent advancements in chaos-based audio encryption, analyzing different encryption schemes, their strengths, and limitations, to offer insights into future developments in this cutting-edge field.
