Design Aids—SPICE
Gordon Silverman, Howard Silver · Modern Instrumentation · 2024
SPICE (an acronym for simulation program with integrated circuit analysis) , was developed at the University of California (Berkeley) in the early 1970s. Since that time, SPICE has been widely used in industry as well as at universities, and various versions of the software have evolved. PSpice® from MicroSim Corporation is the version that runs on the IBM PC and compatibles [ 1 , 3 , 4 ]. An extensive library of analogue components is available with current versions; additionally, a digital device simulation option is available with PSpice for machines with sufficient memory.
