Methods of Measuring the Attenuation of Transformers
George M. Kunkel · 1977
Transformers can and are being used to meet and assist in meeting EMI power line conducted emission and susceptibility requirements. However, since the EMI response of transformers is not controlled in their design, manufacture and use, the EMI response of the equipment in which they are being used can vary significantly from unit to unit. The paper describes the characteristics of a transformer which can be used to meet and assist in meeting EMI power line conducted emission and susceptibility requirements, results of tests performed on transformers, and an outline of a test procedure which can be used to test the EMI response of transformers.
