Interaction of Wired it Networks and Mobile Telecommunication Systems

I. D. Flintoft, S.J. Porter, Andrew C. Marvin · 1998

The increasing density of mobile telecommunication systems together with current trends in electronic device technology may result in an increased risk of EMC problems between wired IT networks and mobile communication systems. Simulations of the coupling between wired networks and mobile sources using a moment method code show that common-mode currents can be the dominant source of EMI if mode conversion mechanisms are present in the system. A technique for predicting the EMI caused by common-mode currents is presented.
