Geographic information System (GIS) as a tool is increasingly being used in many fields. Most projects in the field of water resources protection and hydropower are relatively large and complex. How to implement scientific and effective design methods to improve design efficiency, as well as how to intuitively and clearly describe the dynamic process of building complex engineering structures, is the key to increasing the level of modernization of engineering design and management. Combining the use of GIS in the construction of water management and hydropower facilities in recent years, this article summarizes the state of application of water management and hydropower construction.
