Gesture-Enhanced Communication Systems for the Deaf and Dumb: An In-Depth Review

The Sign language is a vast and complicated language with its own grammatical structures and content. It conveys message through hand forms, face emotions, and body movements. There are several sign languages around the world, each with unique characteristics. As a result, few individuals are able to understand sign language, it is impossible to communicate with the deaf-mute. The gap that exists between the deaf and normal people can be lessened with research in the field of sign language recognition (SLR). Unfortunately, with huge improvements in SLR, this type of recognition lags behind voice recognition by at least ten years. This research provides an overview of Sign Language, including movements and key approaches for identifying it.
