Javascript is one of the leading technologies used for developing web applications. React, Angular, and Vue are effective and popular Javascript frameworks in web development. In this study, two web applications, named Todo App and Weather App, were developed using the React and Preact frameworks to analyze page loading performance. The developed applications were tested with the Google Lighthouse tool on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox browsers. The general results of the tests conducted on Google Chrome show that the average scores for the Todo App developed with React and Preact are 99,8 and 99,7, respectively. For the Weather App, the scores are 99,5 (React) and 99,7 (Preact). In the tests conducted on Microsoft Edge, the results for the Todo App developed with React and Preact are on average 99,8 - 99,9, and for the Weather App, 99,7 - 99,9, respectively. On Mozilla Fire fox, the average scores for the Todo App developed with React and Preact are 100 and 99,8, respectively. For the Weather App, the scores are 99,6 (React) and 99,4 (Preact). When the results are examined in detail with other performance metrics, Preact yielded better results and also showed faster performance than React.
