Review of Techniques Used in Computer-Aided Detection and Diagnosis for Breast Cancer Using Mammograms

Breast Cancer (BC) is one of the most common and threatening diseases within the female population. The early and accurate diagnosis of diseases is crucial in increasing the lives of patients and their survival. The group of vulnerable people has been realized, especially women, who are at high risk of breast cancer. This review discusses the methods used in computer-aided detection and diagnosis of breast cancer using mammograms, the advantages and disadvantages of these methods, and recent improvements and developments by analyzing the secondary resources. This work examines article papers that have documented the application of the techniques and were published between the years, 2015 (the earliest publications dealing with breast cancer detection) and 2024.
