CyberSecGuard: Enhanced Visual Data Security with BLAKE2 Encryption and NIDS Defense

A. J. Bhuvaneshwari, P. Kaythry · 2024

With the combination of the Visual Cryptosystem, the BLAKE2 hash algorithm, and a Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS), this article presents a holistic approach to cybersecurity. The system uses cutting-edge encryption algorithms to secure AC and DC coefficients, crucial components in visual data compression, providing strong security against unwanted access. Thorough assessments in comparison to NIST guidelines guarantee the robustness and efficiency of cryptography in protecting confidential data. A state-of-the-art NIDS is also designed to identify Denial-of-Service (DoS) assaults. Using the KDD-99 dataset, the system yields a remarkable accuracy of 99.34%, improving cybersecurity defense capabilities. The proposed system mitigates and effectively detects network intrusions. With its all-inclusive security features, this integrated solution ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and resilience of visual data against ever-changing cyber threats.
