By Unique Colorgraphics Computer TerminalThe basics of reading, writing , and other language skills ar e being taught to deaf pre-school and kindergarte n age children with the aid of a color graph ics computer d isplay terminal supplied by Ramtek Corporation, Sunnyvale, California, at Cienega School in the East Covina Valley Unified School District near Los Angeles.Called "Computer Assisted Instruction in Language and Reading fo r the Deaf ," the program uses color-coding to provide an orderly instruction sequence for teach ing deaf children basic language skills through the association of colo r with words and manual signs, by means of a Ramtek 6200A Colorgraph ics terminal linked to a Data General NOVA min icomputer.The experimental learning program was developed by a group led by Dr .Gary C. Galbra ith (Principal Investigator).
