Autonomy is building its benchmark on becoming a formidable force. Autonomous systems can play a crucial role in assisting humans in a variety of real-time scenarios. This can potentially be in a broad range of applications, namely humanoid robots, driverless cars, military systems, carts in grocery stores, delivery robots, agricultural machines, etc. The autonomous navigation system requires no or minimal human intervention to choose its own path and navigate through its nearby areas. At present, these systems are also used to assist humans in problematic situations, i.e., situations where humans cannot go. For example, inside dangerous places, inspecting nuclear reactors to check for faults, inaccessible places such as aeroengines, etc. Currently, these systems are used in robotics, self-driving cars, military operations, agriculture, autonomous wheelchair systems, lawn mowers, surveillance systems, etc. Surveys and market analysis of these autonomous systems have predicted significant growth in the near future due to the increased demand for autonomous robots, cars, and drones in recent years. Research studies have predicted that autonomous navigation will become more natural in the coming years. Humans will see more autonomous vehicles like cars, which are already launched with improved connectivity and security. This chapter aims to provide the present applications of these systems and applications of these systems in the near future.
