Data Process and Query

This chapter describes the third component of data analytics: data process and query. The chapter first introduces the ETL process, i.e., data extraction, transformation and load, and various indexes in PostgreSQL and MongoDB. The first section focuses on querying and processing data with standard querying language (SQL). It teaches the basic syntax of filtering data with the SELECT statement and WHERE clause and aggregates data with standard aggregation functions and GROUP operators. The second section focuses on querying and processing data in MongoDB with CREATE, READ, UPDATE, and DELETE (CURD) operators and aggregation pipelines. Both sections use graphic user interfaces (GUIs) to practice SQL commands and CURD operators and demonstrate Generative AI&s;s capacity to write sophisticated queries. The chapter advises users to check the AI service&s;s data privacy policy before using AI-based query assistants.
