"Elapsed Time" : encore pertinent pour la facturation ?

Is “Elapsed Time” still relevant for reinvoicing? A look back at a few years of metrology..."An accumulation of time is no more a consumption of resources than a pile of stones is a house!"In our resource centres, most metrology (and invoicing) is often based on “elapsed time”, sometimes “user time”. The arrival of massive data processing, particularly from biology communities, is now creating a new paradigm: the main "stress" of our infrastructures is no longer based solely on demand from processing units but on the transport of data, all transport.Through an examination of metrology files covering several years of operation and originating from the Blaise Pascal Centre (project centre and test centre) and the PSMN (calculation mesocentre) of ENS-Lyon, we will see that we now need to take other metrics into account to best assess these new uses, and therefore enable a better breakdown of their costs.
