This article explores the potential of combining unicast and broadcast modes of multimedia traffic transmission in the network of a mobile operator in order to improve the content delivery procedure. A comparative analysis of various network topologies for the broadcast segment and technologies used to deliver broadcast media content is carried out. The developed algorithm for optimizing traffic distribution within a combined network, which includes both a unicast and a broadcast component, is presented. The algorithm is aimed at efficient traffic distribution, taking into account the different characteristics of each mode. The distribution takes place by analyzing the traffic structure and determining the optimal way to deliver content to end users. The considered approach can potentially significantly improve the efficiency and quality of the network, which will lead to more efficient use of the limited frequency spectrum, mobile network resources and improved user experience. As a confirmation of the possibility of implementing the algorithm, modern approaches used to evaluate network parameters are considered. A description of the concept of implementing multi-zone coverage in 5G systems with combined coverage, and the considered 4G-Advanced and 5G equipment sharing system within the framework of a single unicast service delivery system is presented.
