Blockchain-based Patient Document Storage and Access

In the digital age, a reliable document verification process is crucial, especially for vital records like Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in hospitals. The prevalence of document forgery in the digital landscape challenges the authenticity of such credentials. Blockchain technology offers a decentralized and cryptographically verifiable ledger, serving as a unified platform for secure document storage, sharing, and retrieval. This paper introduces “Doc Chain,” a system leveraging blockchain on the Web3.storage platform to simplify EMR verification. By comparing document hashes on the blockchain, it simultaneously verifies patient identity and document authenticity. This innovative approach directly associates documents with individual patients, enhancing security and traceability.
