Controller Design in a Natural Basis of a Linear System

Abstract A simple method is proposed for synthesizing a control in the problem of driving a linear nonstationary system from its initial state to equilibrium. The sought control is found analytically using a “natural” basis of the linear system. It is shown that the singularity of the controllability matrix is related to the existence of invariants and linear relationships between the state variables.
