Generally, data mining is the process of extracting knowledge from data and can be used to support knowledge-based decision making (for example, to optimize performance, increase customer satisfaction, increase revenue, cut costs, etc.). There are several reasons to adopt data mining in telecommunications: competitive markets, high churn rates and huge data collections available [ 54 ]. Telecommunications industry is considered as one of the most data-intensive industries in the world and has adopted data mining very early.
