Optimizing Queries
Lukas Vileikis · Apress eBooks · 2024
Optimizing SQL query performance is a big task to perform. To properly understand why, we have to come back to the basics: data can be inserted, updated, selected, and if necessary, deleted. These four tasks necessitate the existence of four types of SQL queries: those queries are INSERT , UPDATE , SELECT , and DELETE . There are other queries, too, but those four queries form a “CRUD triangle”: a triangle of queries that can Create , Read , Update , and/or Delete data.
