Naoki Kato, Nobuchika Sakata · 2024

This study investigates how the range of personal space is changed between first-person and third-person perspectives in VR-space. We also investigate how the full-body illusion affects personal space. Experiments were conducted under five conditions: the first-person perspective without stimulus, the third-person perspective without stimuli, the third-person perspective with visuotactile synchronous stimulus condition, the third-person perspective with visuomotor synchronous stimulus condition, and the third-person perspective visuotactile and visuomotor synchronous stimuli condition. The results show that personal space is influenced by the point of view and full-body illusion.
