One of the most hazardous diseases is cancer, poses a significant threat to human health due to its ability to manifest in various parts of the body as abnormal, proliferative cells. In the case of oral cancer, diverse behavioural patterns may be observed, making early detection and accurate prognosis crucial for effective and timely treatment. Deep learning (DL), a branch of artificial intelligence (AI), has emerged as an attractive way to tackle this problem and revolutionise cancer management by improving diagnostic accuracy and prognostication. In this research, we investigate the possibility for identifying and forecasting early-stage detection of oral cancer by using deep learning models. We apply visual geometry group16 (VGG16) model of deep learning for analysis of oral cancer. Furthermore, we highlight unresolved research issues in the field of cancer disease, providing valuable insights for future research endeavours aimed at advancing cancer diagnosis and treatment.
