Multi-parent parent selection is the alternative method of RPL’s parent selection function which splits the data packets to parents according to the parents’ quality. Generally, multi-parent parent selections face the issue of performance tradeoff between PDR and network lifetime. In this paper, we proposed a new multi-parent selection which adopting MPTCP framework with FAHP algorithm. To evaluate the performance of proposed algorithm, we compare the performance of our proposed algorithm to two effective multi-parent selection algorithms, MELT and MAHP. From the simulation results, the proposed algorithm outperforms the PDR of MELT and MAHP under long distance by assigning the worst parent to perform data transmission on Wifi channel. It can also extend the network lifetime under long transmission distance by reducing the data retransmission through the proposed data packet splitting concept.
