Implementación de OpenMediaVault para mejorar el rendimiento del proceso de almacenamiento de información

Objective. Implement the solution OpenMediaVault to improve information storage process performance in the System Department at the University of Huanuco (Peru). Methods. The study approach was quantitative, of explanatory level, of descriptive type and of pre-experimental design. The sample group was made with a pair of 2TB drives, the observation was employed as technique and, as instrument, an evaluation form that included fve indicators. For the analysis of information, this was processed by the NetData software that visualized the results of the fve indicators, realizing ten measures of every indicator and then calculated the corresponding weighted score. Results. It was observed that use of the free software denominated OpenMediaVault, considerably improved the writing and reading process of storage on the drive, as demonstrated under the Raspberry Pi computer architecture, and measured using the Netdat application. Conclusions. The OpenMediaVault solution was implemented, managing to improve the information storage process in the System department of the University of Huanuco.
