Evaluating Current and Future Impacts of Cloud Computing on Enterprise Operations: A Comparative Analysis

Paula Bajdor · Procedia Computer Science · 2024

This study explores the perception of current and future impacts of Cloud Computing (CC) on enterprise operations, focusing on a comparative analysis among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Poland. The research addresses two primary questions: how enterprises perceive the current influence of CC and their outlook on its future role. The research examined the adoption and utilization of CC services, identifying key drivers and challenges. Findings indicate that CC significantly enhances operational flexibility, reduces costs, and fosters innovation, though concerns about security, dependency on providers, and data management persist. The results underscore the growing reliance on CC, predicting increased standardization and widespread use across various business areas within the next five years. The study concludes that while CC offers substantial benefits, ongoing efforts to improve security, cost management, and standardization are crucial for its sustained adoption and effectiveness.
