Significance of Fourier Transform for Epileptic EEG Signals Analysis
Pooja Pooja, Sourav Maity, Karan Veer · 2024
Epilepsy is a severe brain disorder that occurs due to extra electrical discharge of brain cells. The EEG signal behaves as a basic tool to diagnose epilepsy. This work reviewed a number of studies that worked on two datasets (the BONN and CHB-MIT datasets). It describes the significance of the Fourier Transform in the classification of EEG signals. Various feature extraction techniques to improve accuracy are explored. The Fourier decomposition method gives better results than other studies. A comparative analysis of different studies with individual feature extraction and classification techniques is also explained.
