Fahrizal Lukman Budiono, Hary Budiarto · 2024
This paper proposes a design for implementing a smart campus in the Jogja Digital Polytechnic. The design focuses on leveraging the quality-of-service three main duties (the Tridharma) of higher degree obligation activities, including education, research, and community service, and also the endeavor to contribute to the green campus concept by reducing carbon emission. A literature review is conducted to gather relevant literature on smart campus implementation. The selected literature raises the technical, supporting ecosystem, and sustainability-replicability aspects as considerable to implement smart campus. Integrating innovation technologies including business intelligence, big data, cloud computing, the Internet of things, and artificial intelligence is recommended for improving the technical aspect. The supporting ecosystems focus on system management and community-oriented service. The sustainability and replicability aspect focuses on using smart grid infrastructure for the initial stage, open-source components to reduce the cost of ownership, and energy optimization to achieve a sustainable and replicable system. The paper also proposes practical implementation solutions for implementing the smart campus in the Jogja Digital Polytechnic which discussing the projection of budget estimation and cost-benefit analysis which may be used for the approach of policies and strategies in the real project implementation.
