Electronic voting is rapidly emerging as a transformative technology in the realm of democratic governance, particularly in countries like Pakistan. This paper explores the integration of e-voting as an e-Government application within the Pakistani context. The traditional paper-based voting systems in Pakistan have long faced challenges such as voter fraud, inefficiencies in the counting process, and logistical difficulties in ensuring widespread voter participation. The implementation of e-voting systems offers a potential solution to these issues, promising increased accuracy, efficiency, accessibility, and transparency in the electoral process. The primary objective of this study is to investigate whether the existing technologies and solutions within the realm of e-Government provide a suitable foundation for the development and implementation of e-voting systems in Pakistan. To achieve this objective, an online software-based solution for e-voting is proposed. The proposed system aims to streamline the voting process, enhance voter turnout, and address issues related to fraud, reducing voting time, and simplifying the vote-counting process.Significantly, this study provides a foundation for the integration of e-voting as an e-Government application in Pakistan. The proposed e-voting system aims to automate the voting process, enhance data accessibility, and establish a stronger relationship between the indicator and its related parameters within the electoral process.
