Managing Requirement Development Challenges in IMA Platform Development

In this work, we discuss the requirement development challenges encountered during designing a highly complex distributed Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) Platform and describe the solution developed for the Turkish Fighter Program. IMA Platform requirement development challenges include adjusting requirements granularity, defining Platform functions, ensuring requirements-design synchronization, traceability, and change impact analysis. We have addressed these with a comprehensive requirement development framework within the IMA Platform Development Ecosystem based on Model-Based Systems Engineering. A methodology aligned with DO-297 and ARP-4754B is applied for the TF-X IMA Platform development.
