Dana Nurgazina, Saule Kudubayeva, Iurii V. Krak · Trudy Universiteta · 2024
The features of the Kazakh sign language are considered, focusing on the principles of building connections between objects and subjects. The authors highlight spatial and subject- object relationships in sign language, providing examples of their use. It is argued that for effective sign language interpreting it is important to consider visual aspects such as frames and stage, which is accompanied by empirical recommendations for sign language interpreters. Additionally, the issues of classification of gestures by parts of speech and the problems of translation from text to sign language are discussed. A 3D avatar associated with a database of Kazakh words for automated sign language interpretation is described. The authors highlight its role in improving the working conditions of sign language interpreters and providing support for deaf people in social environments.
