Hardware Trojan Detection and Identification Using Electromagnetic Side-Channel Leakage

L. P. Liao, Feiyu Meng · 2024

As a concealed yet destructive emerging threat in the field of hardware security, hardware Trojans have garnered significant attention in academic research. In the realm of hardware Trojan detection, electromagnetic side-channel detection technology has emerged as a prominent non-intrusive approach. This technology leverages the collection and analysis of electromagnetic radiation signals during the operation of integrated circuits to detect and identify hardware Trojans. Addressing the shortcomings of inadequate data preprocessing and low detection efficiency prevalent in past hardware Trojan detection efforts, this paper proposes a novel hardware Troj an electromagnetic side-channel detection model. This model not only enhances detection accuracy but also improves efficiency in handling large-scale and complex datasets, offering an effective solution for the classification and detection of hardware Trojans based on electromagnetic side-channel signals.
