Research on Wireless Network Coverage Optimization Scheme for University Smart Libraries

Bin Jiang, Yanmei Jing, Guangju Zhu, Weiming Mao · 2024

With the development of technologies such as IoT, cloud computing, and blockchain, profound changes have occurred in the socio-economic landscape and people's lifestyles. University libraries are also adapting to the growth of emerging technologies by transitioning to smart libraries, aiming to provide efficient, personalized, and secure services. High-quality wireless network coverage is the critical foundation for the application of these technologies in smart libraries. This paper addresses the complexities of wireless network deployment in university library stacks, reading areas, and study zones, considering the large-scale network and high-density user concurrency characteristics. It proposes a 5G wireless network optimization solution. Using Ranplan software, a 3D model of a university library was created, and intelligent ray tracing was employed in combination with on-site wireless network environment test data for simulation and validation. The simulation results show that this solution can effectively improve the wireless network coverage quality in the library.
