In this article, a concise wideband bandpass filter (BPF) with the intended passband characteristics and improved edge selectivity is formulated. This study proposes the use of a bandpass filter for 5G applications. The wideband spectrum (21-29 GHz) is the intended target of the filter's construction. The filter is comprised of two quarter-wavelength parallel-coupled line sections operating at an approximate centre frequency of 26.4 GHz. In the middle, between the coupled line sections, a parallel stepped-impedance open-ended stub is loaded. To enhance effectiveness of the filtering process, a Y-shaped stub is integrated into the design. At the pivotal juncture where the coupled line segments meet, a Y-shaped remnant is placed. By implementing this alteration, the filter is capable of attaining an increased degree of selectivity in its filtration process. Following the implementation of the filter configuration on an RT/duroid 6002 substrate, HFSS simulation was employed to ascertain the validity of the proposed filter.
