Digital communication systems rely on several key components to transmit and receive data efficiently. Within these systems, encoders, decoders, parity generators, parity checkers, and routers play critical roles. Among them, the router stands out as a pivotal component, facilitating effective data communication and transfer. Notably, Nano routers, employing Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) technology, has evolved as game-changers in this domain. By harnessing QCA technology, Nano routers significantly enhance communication capabilities while simultaneously reducing area, delay, and power consumption. This article presents a comprehensive survey of research articles pertaining to the design and implementation of Nano routers and its design components using QCA technology. It delves into the innovative strides made in this field and unveils new and effective designs for Nano routers.
