String Interaction From the Path Group Approach

Michael B. Mensky · 2024

In recent years the quantum string theory closely related to the contour approach in gauge theory, specifically in QCD, has become a topic of encreasing interest. In some works strings were supposed to be elementary extended entities, while in most cases they were introduced as a subsidiary instrument for treating ordinary matter, such as a gauge (specifically gluon) field. The interaction of quantum strings was usually understood as their topological rearrangement: cutting, fusion, closing etc. [ 1 ]. Sometimes special fields were supposed to transmit the string interaction, e.g. the second–rank antisymmetric tensor field [ 2 ].
