Wireless networking solutions for climate control and comfort in modern air conditioning systems

Shalom Akhai, Amandeep Singh Wadhwa · 2024

This chapter investigates the possibility of integrating air conditioning systems utilising wireless networking methods, with a particular emphasis on temperature management and the comfort of the end user. This demonstrates the beneficial relationship between wireless communication and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in the field of air conditioning. The elimination of physical constraints and the creation of new opportunities for remote access are two of the benefits that wireless networking brings to air conditioning systems. The transformation of operational frameworks brought about by these technology breakthroughs has increased both comfort and productivity. Additionally, the components of wireless networking, such as communication protocols and the architecture of the IoT, are discussed in this chapter. The use of wireless sensors and actuators in air conditioning systems is another topic that is covered in this chapter. One of the advantages of wireless networking is the increased user autonomy that can be achieved via the usage of remote control functions. Users are able to remotely adjust the settings of their air conditioning systems by using apps for smartphones and online interfaces. Monitoring and adjusting the cooling settings in real time helps users feel more comfortable while also reducing energy use. The chapter comes to a close with an examination of potential advances in wireless heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technology, with a focus on developing tendencies. It is anticipated that the integration of building automation systems and smart home ecosystems will revolutionise residential and professional settings respectively.
